In 2025, the kinderhotel.info Award was given out for the seventh time to the best child- and family-friendly hotels in Europe, and we are proud to announce that we ranked 7th in Salzburg. Nationwide, we are in 21th place out of over 250 hotels that were rated. We are thrilled by this great form of recognition for all we do!
The evaluation was based on reviews on kinderhotel.info, guest opinions on other review portals, as well as our childcare program and our family-friendly amenities.
DAILY FROM 8:30 AM TO 5:00 PM
Childcare for Ages 1 and Up
Our little guests can enjoy many cool things at the hotel. Daily childcare is available, even for the youngest ages 1 and up.
Childcare is available from Monday to Sunday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and includes a wide-ranging program. We also provide a kids’ lunch and a juice bar for shared lunchtime experiences.
Once a week in summer, we offer a special Sleep-in Day for parents, when you, mom and dad, have a chance to sleep as long as you want. On that day, the Kids Club starts at 8:00 AM. To make sure you really enjoy this day to the fullest, our caregivers will even pick up your children right from your room, then have breakfast together.
In addition, we offer a group evening dinner just for kids three times a week.
At Family Hotel Felsenhof, we want only the best for you and your children, so all these offers are automatically included in the room price with no additional costs involved.
NEW: Baby care
We offer care for babies every Tuesday and Thursday from 09:00 to 12:00.
Childcare 7 Days a Week
Our "Kids Feel Well" area makes children's eyes light up immediately.
Here, you'll find a 12m² children's pool, a family sauna with tropical rain shower, and a large family relaxation area.
Next to our restaurant, we have set up a separate playroom. Here, the children can play while you enjoy your meal in peace.
Outside, your kids will find plenty of toys, such as go-karts, push cars, a trampoline, and even children's bikes including safety gear.
For “freshly baked” parents, we also provide equipment for your room, including a crib/cot, changing mat, electric water jug, diaper bin, toilet booster seat, and nightlight.
Moreover, you can use our washing machine and dryer for free if ever an accident happens.
And should you need a babysitter outside of regular childcare hours, you can go ahead and book one for €20 per hour.
Kids Arena for Big and Small
Our "Kids Arena" is like a giant playroom where you can enjoy table tennis or billiards, clamber up the climbing wall, read books, and even play air hockey.
For our littlest guests, we have set up a cozy baby lounge. There we have a ball pit, an indoor slide, and more.
Aside from table tennis and billiards, we have many other
toys in our Kids Arena. For example, children can play dress-up, play in a
grocery store or a dollhouse with a kitchen, or give a few musical instruments
a try. And there's even more than that to discover!
Food and Drink for Kids
Our "BabyBar" is open 24 hours a day. It's stocked with vegetable and fruit purees made by Holle, milk and yogurts, and everything else babies need. We also provide an electric water jug and a sterilizer. Baby dishes, cutlery, and bibs are also available.
At breakfast, there's a special area just for kids and a "juice bar" for the whole family. The juice bar also offers soft drinks, tea, hot chocolate, and coffee.
At dinnertime, you'll find a self-service children's buffet.
Visit to the Farm for Kids run by the Horner Family
We want to make your vacation unforgettable, which is why we offer so many unique experiences. Those include a visit to the Farm for Kids operated by the Horner family.
At this farm, you will get to see ponies, chickens, cats, cows, pigs, and even goats. Farm dog, Bernie, will be right at your side every step of the way.
You and your family are welcome to visit the farm anytime, also as part of the childcare program.
Summer Activities for Kids
The Oberreiter riding school is just 5 minutes away. There, any child can take riding lessons if they wish. A riding lesson costs about €30 and lasts 45 minutes. If your child prefers ponies, that's possible, too. Pony rides cost €20 and lasts 40 minutes.
In summer, you can play mini-golf daily. The price for children is only €4 and for adults just €5. With the SalzburgerLand Card, you can even play for free as often as you want! With the Flachau Card, which you automatically receive for free with as little as a one night's stay, you will be given a discount.
Flori's Adventure Path is an ideal hiking tour for families. Along the way, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, you'll find puzzle boards and lots of fun and play stations including a zipline, climbing walls, swings, a forest slide, and a nature cinema.
Children's Swimming Courses right at the Hotel
We know that starting out can be difficult. That's why trained swimming instructors from the "OCTI" swimming school come to us whenever one or more children want to learn to swim. The swimming course is available for children ages four-and-a-half and older. The course takes place 5 times a week, from Monday to Friday, 45 minutes each.
For youngsters who are already quite good swimmers, we also offer courses for "experienced" swimmers. Here, the kids can even earn their first swimming badge. Each course costs €110. A private lesson costs €50 and lasts 30 minutes.
Playfully Learning to Ski
Our hotel offers a unique winter experience for you and your family. We even have a special children's ski carousel right here at the hotel, where the kids can learn how to ski correctly.
For small children under 6 years of age, we offer age-appropriate equipment that you can borrow for free. The gear includes skis, boots, poles, and a helmet.
We know it can sometimes be stressful getting the kids dressed first thing in the morning and shuttling them to their ski lessons on time. That's why your children will be picked up right at the hotel by the ski instructors and brought back home in the afternoon. In this way, you will be able to enjoy your ski vacation without any unnecessary stress.
