Ongoing Construction Work on the A10 Autobahn
The 14 kilometers-long section of the autobahn between Golling and Werfen, which is actually the oldest chain of tunnels in Austria, no longer meets required safety standards. As a consequence, extensive upgrades are now being made that will continue until June 2025. The construction work is affecting a 14 km stretch of the A10 between Golling and Werfen involving five tunnels in total (the Ofenauer, Hiefler, Brentenberg, Zetzenberg, and Helbersberg tunnels). The work will be completed in three phases between September 2022 and July 2025. Construction work will pause during the summer months from July until September.

Seriously consider using public transportation instead. A number of very attractive offers and packages for travel to Salzburger Land are a great alternative to coming by car. Additional trains from Salzachtal and Enns¬pongau have been running since construction began and are now integrated into the regular schedule. Public buses using the autobahn are given priority. Additional buses, such as the No. 270 express (Lungau-Eben/Pg-Salzburg), are also operating.

FROM AUSTRIA
- The ÖBB Railjet runs every half-hour, roughly 30 times a day, from Vienna to Salzburg. The ride time is 2 hours 22 minutes
- Since 15.12.2023, two direct connections per weekend are offered year-round from Vienna to the Pinzgau region (Zell am See, Saalfelden). During winter season (16.12.2023 – 07.04.2024) as well as summer season (29.06. – 08.09.2024), this service will be supplemented by a third direct connection.
- "Spar-Schiene" tickets: from many cities in Austria, you can travel to Salzburg for as little as € 19.90!
- On heavy travel days, seat reservations are recommended, which are available to you from €3, either online or at any ÖBB ticket counter.
- Your final destination for rail arrival is the station in Radstadt, located roughly 12 km from Hotel Felsenhof and served several times a day by regional trains. Alternatively, you can travel to Altenmarkt or Bischofshofen, both of which can also be reached using regional trains. We are more than happy to pick you and your family up free of charge from the station in Radstadt or Altenmarkt. Should you arrive at the stations in Bischofshofen or St. Johann, we will be glad to organize a taxi on your behalf.

- With 17 direct connections and numerous fast ICE connections requiring a transfer in Munich, Salzburger Land is easily accessible year-round from many cities in Germany, either directly or with a transfer in Munich. Since December 2023, the journey to Salzburger Land has become even more comfortable with the use of the latest-generation of ICE trains.
- Super-Saver offers are available starting from €37.90, and for shorter distances, such as from Munich, prices are sometimes as low as €19.90.
- Children up to 14 years old travel for free when accompanied by a person at least 15 years of age.
- Your destination station for arrival by train is Radstadt, which is about 12 km from Hotel Felsenhof and is served several times daily by regional trains. Alternatively, you can travel to Altenmarkt or Bischofshofen. These stations are also regularly accessible by regional train.
